Around the nation this weekend, the Tasmanian summer racing season continues with the AAMI Launceston Cup, while a retrospective of the late Lorna Fencer Naparrula’s work opens in Muk Muk’s new exhibition Panu. The Perth Writers’ Festival is on as part of Fringe World, and Perth Festival continues. Speaking of festivals, Summerside - Canberra’s month long celebration of tasty treats in the region - is coming to a close this Sunday, while Cellar Door Wine Festival opens up for three days from tomorrow in Adelaide.
The sold out Soundwave Festival is finally here, in Brisbane on Saturday and Sydney on Sunday, plus a bunch of not-as-yet sold out Sidewaves, but if you prefer something more classic, there’s always Deep Purple if you’re in Brissy, or Between the Bays in Melbourne with the likes of Hoodoo Gurus, Tim Finn and Troy Cassar-Daley. Flix In the Stix is still screening, too - it’s in Armidale and Tamworth this weekend.
Make sure you scope out a SLAM Day gig near your this Saturday to help support live Australia’s music!
