As reported by AFN, Australia’s boutique brand for lovers of loose-leaf tea, T2 has been bought (for an undisclosed sum) by the global brand Unilever.
Unilever is the biggest tea company in the world already own Lipton Tea and Bushells alongside other food brand favourites like Ben & Jerry’s and plans to bring T2 into the global market.
With over 40 stores in Australia and 200 tea flavours, T2 has blossomed with annual sales of over $57 million since it’s humble beginnings in 1996 in a small shop in Brunswick Street, Melbourne.
“T2 is a great Australian success story – a story that we now intend to continue with Unilever,” said Unilever Australasia Chairman Clive Stiff.
“We know tea drinkers are increasingly looking for new and diverse tea flavours, so we are delighted to be brining T2’s premium and exciting range into the fold.”
