Irish rock band U2 are returning down under this November for their 'U2 – The Joshua Tree Tour 2019'. Kicking off at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, the band will head their way to Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, Adelaide Oval and Sydney Cricket Ground. The multi-award-winning band will cap it off at Perth's Optus Stadium. The AU dates follow the band's only New Zealand show which will see them play Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium.
'The Joshua Tree Tour'—which first had its 2017 rerun in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original album and tour of the same name—features the complete album played in sequence along with a selection of highlights from U2's thick catalogue of hits. The innovative staging boasts a specially commissioned series of films from longtime collaborator Anton Corbijn—in brilliant 8k resolution on a 200 x 45 foot cinematic screen, the largest high-res LED screen ever used in a touring show.
Confirmed as special guest on all dates are English rockers Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Noel said, "We, NGHFB, are beside ourselves. 'The Joshua Tree 2017 Tour' was some of the most fun we ever had. It will be both an honour and a pleasure to share the stage with our friends and comrades once again. It's gonna be a ripper!".
